Daily (but not really) #7
Apr. 7th, 2025 08:53 pmI moved into a studio in a student accom building, so much better than my previous place (my landlords made it such an annoying time). My diet since I've arrived has been really bad and I've gained a fair bit of weight, been eating a lot better + exercising (my building has a gym, yay!!). I somehow gained a shit ton of muscle in one week, far more than I did when I used to go to the gym for months. I guess gym bros really were right about the importance of protein. That or I'm absorbing the steroids from Tesco chicken lol. Went to a Ewy gig yesterday, gave them and another band my contact info if they ever wanted a studio to record in, idk if they'll get back to me but anyways #networking.
I've been really interested in Baldwin IV King of Jerusalem recently. Only book in the British Library worth reading on him is one written in French. I really like that French authors (even academic ones) make history books exciting to read, even if it does romance it a bunch. If the facts are there, I say more romance!! English authors are so dull and clear cut, reminds me of how I was trained to write essays in schools. Cambridge please stop torturing every reader of everything non fiction. I still don't understand why academia still insists on academic writing being formal and boring. Why is it considered professional to make such interesting things such a bore to read and write? Anyways..
Cheers
